Did you know from the first time you turn on your new computer system, windows logs every activity, program used and internet site you ever visit, and keeps this information in hidden files, in hidden directories on your hard drive. This information can be viewed anyone what knows where this information is kept, they can see what you have been doing today, yesterday, last week, last month or even last year.

If you have been doing anything on your computer that you don't want anyone to know about such as your partner, kids, family and friends, then you need to know how to get rid of these files, if you do not have anything to hide then you should also know that these files are using a large amount of disk space, and dramatically slows down your computer because of all them junk files.

I honestly don't know why windows keeps these useless files on your computer, but I do know that this information can be used against you in a court of law, police computer forensics can access this information and basically use the information to prove if you have been doing something illegal on you computer, even if you didn't know that you had visited an illegal site. Please note if you are doing something illegal, this information is not to help you evade police procedures, there are other ways of proving illegal activities.

The best known way of removing these files, is Evidence Eliminator, this program uses military style deleting of files and logs by renaming/overwriting then deleting the file for good, download a 30 day free trail on downloads section, well worth it. A cheaper alternative is Tracks Eraser, but this will not give as much protection as the above programs. There are others available to remove Internet activity logs such as Guard-IE that also alerts you of unwanted cookies and also stops pop-ups.
